Welcome to the Flower Court
Festival dei Fiori, the Art of Floral Arrangement.
In occasion of the 2010 edition, the “Festival dei Fiori” - organized by Ucflor – Sanremo Flower Market - will transform itself into a fairy-tale event at the Royal Palace of Venaria, a UNESCO World Heritage site. From Friday 12th to Monday 15th of March, the best Italian and International floral designers will meet at the Savoia family's summer residence, in the province of Turin.

«If you love true beauty and you’re filled with the desire to learn just how much art can give life to inert material, take advantage of your first day off to stroll at Venaria, you’ll return satisfied with a rich wealth of new ideas and pleasant feelings»: This, in the nineteenth century, was how passers-by were prompted to visit The Royal Palace of Venaria, inviting them to admire the site’s exceptional cultural wealth.
The “Festival dei Fiori” could not refuse the invitation to held the 2010 edition in such an enchanting location that will surely be a source of inspiration for the world's best floral design artists who, for this edition, will create superb masterpieces on the theme: “Life at Court in Royal Palaces in the 17th and 18th centuries” .
Visitors will thus experience the art of floral arrangements, the enhancement of the soft and gentle flowers from the "Riviera dei Fiori": a regally floral journey in Mediterranean fragrances and brilliance in one of the most beautiful royal palaces.
The 2010 “Festival dei Fiori” will enchant visitors with the essence of royalty, combining the splendour of the location and the colours of the world's most beautiful royal palaces with those of the Riviera’s vibrant winter production.

The “Festival dei Fiori” is the leading event in Italy for florists: four days dedicated to the floral world where one can admire and learn new ideas and techniques used for floral bouquet arrangements. The “Festival dei Fiori” is also a key annual showcase for all Western Ligurian floral production.

The four day Festival includes numerous events: floral arrangement contests, exhibitions and permanent exhibits, meetings with leading floral designers, workshops, fun and entertainment staring the flowers of the Ligurian Riviera.
PROGRAM SUMMARY
Friday March 12
In the morning, will be inaugurated the “ 9th edition of the “Festival dei Fiori” whereas the afternoon will be dedicated to the Bouquet Sanremo Contest® selections, the official bouquet contest linked to the Sanremo song Festival.
In the evening, Grand Court Banquet, a private event by invitation only where the Ligurian cuisine will be combined with the Piedmont cuisine, in association with the “Azienda Speciale della Camera di Commercio di Imperia”, the Italian Chamber of Commerce.
Saturday March 13
One of the most anticipated moments will take place in the morning: a floral demonstration held by world famous Belgian floral designer Geert Pattyn who will create original and innovative arrangements with special floral design techniques (free event reserved to sector operators: mandatory registration at http://www.festivaldeifiori.it/iscrizione-stage.php.
The Bouquet Sanremo Young contest will be held on Saturday afternoon with young florists (under 30 years old), who will put on a live floral arrangement show creating elegant and original bouquets. The award ceremony will immediately follow.
On Saturday night, the Grand Debutant Ball choreographed by the famous Maître de Ballet Maria Beatrice Belluschi (“Balletto di Torino” dance school) where 20 young ladies will debut on the arms of military cadets.
Sunday March 14
In the morning, Geert Pattyn, will be back on stage for his second floral arrangement demonstration, a not to-be-missed appointment! The Bouquet Sanremo Contest finals will be held in the afternoon. This is an important chance to seize international visibility during the 61st Italian Song Festival (2011 edition). Contest awards will immediately follow.
Monday March 15
In the morning, the charm of Paris will spread over the Venaria thanks to the talent of Gilles Pothier, the French Maître Fleuriste. Mr Pothier will realize beautiful arrangements using cut flowers and ornamental foliage from Western Liguria.
The Sanremo Italian Style team, the Italian and the International Floral Art Schools will then exhibit on stage in the afternoon.
The bouquets created during the “Festival dei Fiori” for the Bouquet Sanremo and Bouquet Sanremo Young contests will be auctioned and all profits will be donated to charity.
